The entire unit measures 13 3/8 inches x 8 3/4 inches x 4 5/8 inches. There is no wobble, drag or distortion during playback, and the heads have been cleaned and demagnetize d for your listening pleasure! Unfortunately, since we can't go down to the Lafayette Electronics store to buy a blank 8-track tape, we are unable to test the recording function. The lighted VU meters do not flicker, and they respond well to the beat of the music. Overall, it is still in great, clean cosmetic condition. The 8-track is used, and it does have a few scuffs and scratches. It is equipped with stereo RCA/phono input/output, as well as left and right 1/4" mic inputs perfect for fun, lo-fi 2-track home recording for bands and musicians. The Craig H260 Eight-Track Stereo Recorder has cool "futuristic" functions, including convenient fast-forward and pause capabilities, and a cool electro-mechanical eject feature that slowly pushes the 8-track out of the carriage like a front-loading VCR.

The company is long-defunct and is not related to the cheap line of modern Chinese electronics found in drug stores across the country today. Compton, California's Craig Corporation, known mostly for calculators and car and home audio, was more of an importer than a manufacturer, shipping in Japanese-made electronics from the likes of Sony and Casio, then rebranding them with the Craig name. This vintage Craig 8-track cassette recorder has a classic brushed aluminum faceplate with imitation wood veneer cabinet, funky, chunky space age control buttons, and lighted analog VU meters.
